GENERAL INFORMATION
Luxury and high standards of service have been provided at the Britannia Hotel since its opening in 1897. Choose from 4 exciting restaurants in addition to the piano bar and cocktail bar.
Every room at the Britannia Hotel is well-appointed with a thorough combination of timeless elegance and modern comfort. All rooms have free access to the wireless network. The majority of our rooms are non-smoking. and allergy rooms are also available.

HOTEL INFORMATION
Our modern conference rooms in tasteful surroundings create the perfect frame for national gatherings as well as smaller meetings. The course and conference centre Passagen Kurs & Konferansesenter offers 12 modern meeting rooms with a capacity of 1 to 420 people. The conference rooms have modern furnishing and are equipped with state-of-the-art audiovisual, light and air conditioning systems.
Right next to the conference centre you will find 1000 square metres of tastefully decorated public space with a coffee bar, refreshments, lounge suites, an open fireplace and access to the garden for smokers.
AREA INFORMATION
More than 1000 years have passed since the Viking king Olav Tryggvason sailed up the Trondheim fjord in his long ship and decided that this was where he would found his city, which he called Nidaros (997 AD).
Trondheim has been the seat of the archbishop and crown, as Norway's 1st capital for 200 years. From this period you can see the Nidarosdom and the archbishops palace with the crown jewels exhibit.
Today, Trondheim is the 3rd largest city in Norway and a major centre for high technology, research and education. Staff are happy to provide more information on the history of the city.
TRAVEL INFORMATION
By car
Britannia Hotel is located in the city center, to get to the hotel by car please follow these instructions. (route is also marked in map.)
From south:
Follow E6 to city center, after crossing Elgeseter Bru (bridge) to city center follow Prinsens Gate as far as possible (E6), at the end of the street follow E6 right into Olav Tryggvasons Gate, turn right into Munkegaten (you will see the statue in the city square in front of you). From Munkegaten turn left into Dronningens Gate, follow this street for about 200m and you will see the hotel on the right hand side.
From north:
Follow E6 to city center, after crossing Bakke Bru (bridge) into the city center follow Olav Tryggvasons Gate (E6) for about 600m, turn left into Munkegaten (you will see the statue in the city square in front of you). From Munkegaten turn left into Dronningens Gate, follow this street for about 200m and you will see the hotel on the right hand side.
By train
The closest train station is Trondheim Sentralstasjon (main station). From the train station follow Søndre Gate for about 600m, turn right into Dronningens Gate and you will be at the hotel.
Alternatly there are taxies available at the train station.
By airplane
Closest airport is Trondheim Lufthavn Værnes (TRD). From the airport you may either take a taxi or the public airport shuttle bus to the city center. The stop for the hotel will be announced by the busdriver. Closest stop to the hotel is Munkegaten, from the bus stop follow Dronningens Gate for 200m and you will see the hotel on the right hand side. On departure the public airport shuttle stops in front of the hotel.
By public transportation
All city busses stops in Munkegaten/Dronningens Gate (as well as the airport shuttle bus). From here you follow Dronningens Gate for 200m, and you will see the hotel on the right hand side of the street. Taxies stop at the hotel.
