Clarion Collection Hotel Havnekontoret - Bergen

Beneath the shadow of the Bergen Mountain range as the west coast winds sweep off the sea, this old Hanseatic trading town is the dramatic home to an upmarket boutique hotel. Opened in 2006, this vintage stone-building from the 1920's is situated on the quayside and was once the original Customs House. During the substantial renovations aimed at modernising the facilities, all efforts were made to preserve the historic building’s neo-classicist features and Baroque influences from 1919. The charming guest rooms are soundproofed and the soft shades of the chocolate brown textures, floor to ceiling drapes, original granite staircase are all in tune with the historic nature of the building. The large stylish lounge includes an English and Norwegian library, while the rooftop outlook offers spectacular views over the harbor.
